• Inclusion Collaborative Conference - San Jose, CA 10/23-10/24/19

  The school year of 2017-18 marked our pilot year of full inclusion at Los Angeles High School. Because of the success of the program, LA High has been chosen as the model for the implementation of full inclusion for the entire Los Angeles Unified School District. The Inclusion Program was also awarded the 2018-19 Humanities award from LAUSD. Multiple special education and general education students have won leadership and achievement awards from both within and outside LAUSD through this program.
  
  Mr. Sahara and Mr. Nkwocha will share how the program originated, how it was implemented, and how we went from a pilot program to an award-winning program for the rest for the district to follow. We will also share with our viewers what a co-taught lesson plan looks like and how we actively use UDL strategies, technology, and the various co-teaching models to reach all levels of learners in our classroom.

• 3:00 JB Timer/Warm-up (Spring 2019)

  During this exercise, students will be matching vocabulary words with their definitions in groups competitively. Under the time constraints, the team with the most correct answers wins a prize. This is also an example of the many different innovative timers used in the classroom management in an inclusion course.

  Our pitcher takes care of the other team with a 1-2-3 strikeout inning, then hits a double to lead off! Jessica is also one of our top inclusion students inside the classroom as well being a regular table group leader. She is an exemplary example of our inclusion students looking to create a community at school and investing their time in making this school improved for future classes.
