Hello Roman Family:
I am excited to help grow our magnificent STEAM Magnet. As coordinator, my job is to ensure our program has some of the best instructors and brightest students in the district. At Los Angeles High School, the opportunities are truly limitless!
I have served in several capacities throughout my educational career, but my focus has always been student-centered and creating a mindset of sustained success. Specifically, I ascribe to Stanford Professor Carol Dweck, who said, “In a growth mindset, challenges are exciting rather than threatening. So rather than thinking, oh, I’m going to reveal my weaknesses, you say, wow, here’s a chance to grow.”
Our STEAM program and faculty actively promote this mindset while providing engaging and challenging learning environments. Consequently, our students enjoy a rigorous academic experience that cares for the whole child and encourages curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, cultural affirmation, community responsibility, and ethical leadership.
