Mr. Rashaan Washington

Counselor - Black Student Achievement Plan

WashingtonIt is my pleasure to be here at Los Angeles Senior High School as the new Black Student Achievement Program - School Counselor. I am excited and looking forward to supporting students, parents and staff this upcoming school year.  The foundation of my approach to education and school counseling is to provide resources to ensure our students are getting their needs met.  My key areas of focus will be supporting students with academics achievement, attendance & social-emotional needs. In addition, guidance with college preparation, character development & extra-curricular activities will also be provided.

I am new to LAUSD, however I have been a school counselor and school administrator working with 6th - 12th grade students in the Los Angeles metropolitan area for over 13 years.  As a native of Los Angeles and graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA (undergrad)/ University of Houston in Texas (grad),  I pride myself on being connected to the communities I serve students and live within.  I believe it takes a village to prepare our students for success in school and beyond, with that being said I want to be accessible to parents as well so that we can work together.  I look forward to meeting you all, I will be located in the main office (310) 900-2700 ext. 2759.
