This video is an example of a PowerPoint presentation used in conjunction with a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Approach to teaching by Mr. Nkwocha and Mr. Sahara. The lesson is delivered through a team teaching co-teaching model in an inclusion classroom. UDL is a framework for how to develop lesson plans and assessments that is based on three main principles: 1) Representation: UDL recommends offering information in more than one format; 2) Action and expression: UDL suggests giving kids more than one way to interact with the material and to show what they’ve learned; and 3) Engagement: UDL encourages teachers to look for multiple ways to motivate students. today is Martin Luther King day and it's inspiring because of what he stood for equality freedom justice everyone is the same person no one is better than others whether you're white black Hispanic whatever we all I want it was big and him to stand up and get other people to realize how big of a deal spell frigid for things to be equal we wouldn't be able to do a lot of things we do today if it wasn't for him if he never had that Vision or the courage to speak out the way he did order address the issues that he fell wasn't fair that I might not be where I am today so he means the world to me and I think he means the world to a lot of people first oven was one of the most important African Americans to know that is planet in our for me it means a lot because of what he needs and he is still in people's minds you know the movement still alive and also to see that you're going to see things are falling cousin Tammy on Mitchell Ave the wife up for African Americans man to attempt to think big believe that you know they can fit that we can be more than just a basketball for it and for me it was definitely The Testament having a being here to babysit black president so those are things man that you know we do we may not think about what he's paved the way for us to have a black president family factor hey baby cereal Omaha out for numerous years you knowing in our society and I definitely believe that it had a huge impact on all Races I feel like the societal acceptance is different kind of situation in the points that he made in that speech where all of us can come together and be equal individuals is definitely something I'm proud to be a part of your now being a young ambassador NBA and not feel like I definitely representative speech at every single day of my life that's what you know he and compass and I was getting everybody chain everybody has the same equal ground you know no matter where your status was color economy you know it fit financial status it doesn't matter you know if you if you want it you can go get it he paved the way for many people black people but people all of America and to this day people all over the world to be able to do the job I do walk down the streets of America that I walk down and today I don't think it would be possible if it weren't for him types of figurative language chicken nuggets in 1863 President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation which ended slavery in the United States the end of the Civil War in 1865 for the reinforced religion of slavery the thirteenth and fourteenth amendments to the United States Constitution guarantee a list of their skin color but even though the laws were where that didn't change everyone's opinion of slavery and African Americans many white Southerners have been taught from infancy that black Americans were not as smart or important as white Americans in 1866 a few white Southerners dressed in white cheats and pretended to be the ghosts of dead Confederate soldiers they broke up a meeting of freed blacks or what started out as a joke turned into a terrorist organization called the Ku Klux Klan plan became violence in one about intimidating singing killing blacks and whites supporters of black equality the Ku Klux Klan became popular with those who felt the white race was Superior they another secret groups have reportedly killed 20,000 men women and children in the southern sky it's African Americans were segregated meaning they were separated because of race even though the 13th and 14th amendments were clear on civil rights the southern states got around to the constitutional laws by passing the Jim Crow laws these laws and customs stated that it was constitutional to give blacks separate but equal treatment the problem was the equal part was seldom identical to the widespread Villages and advantages the Jim Crow laws specify that African-Americans were only allowed to sit in the back of buses brighten colored only train cars blacks were not allowed to eat and all the same restaurants as whites blacks had to use separate bathrooms drinking fountains peaches and park benches black children could not attend the same schools and compared to whites black schools were underfunded this went on for many years but eventually African Americans came forward and protested the separation of races in 1892 and African American man named Homer Adolph Plessy refused the color only train car in 1955 a black woman named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger both of these people were arrested for their actions but they planted a seed of courage and many others African Amer end stage sit-ins and would sit at white-only lunch counters even if they were asked to leave in the 1960s dedicated black and white Americans begin publicly fighting legal in more men like dr. Martin Luther King jr. Martin Luther King jr. for kids dr. Martin Luther King jr. was an American Baptist Minister activist and also known for being the leader of the African-American civil rights movement dr. Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta Georgia on January 15th 1929 now the world is dr. Martin Luther King jr. but his name wasn't always Martin he was actually born and given the name Michael by his father but that all changed during a trip to Germany where the Theologian Martin Luther impressed. Luther King's father so much that he changed his name and his now when it came to education dr. Martin Luther King jr. was very smart that's right when he was a kid he literally skipped the knife and the 11 to enter Morehouse College at the young age of 15 and 19 44 later on dr.
