Graduation Requirements

In order to earn a high school diploma from Los Angeles High School, students must earn a grade of "D" or better in "a-g" courses, meet California Department of Education requirements, and complete additional LAUSD requirements. In addition, students must earn 210 numerical credits.

  • Expository Writing/World Literature or ERWC (1 year)

  • (CC Algebra 1, CC Geometry AB, CC Algebra 2AB, Pre-Calculus AB, AP Calculus AB or BC)

Laboratory Science(D)...................................................................2 Years

  • 1 Year Biological Science (Biology AB)
  • 1 Year Physical Science (Chemistry AB, Physics AB, or Integrated Coordinated Science 1AB)

Language Other Than English (LOTE)..........................................2 Years

  • 2 years of the same language (Spanish, Korean)

Visual and Performing Arts............................................................1 Year

Must be within the same discipline: Visual Arts, Drama, Music, Dance
  • (Intro Art, Theatre Improvisation, Advanced Band, Keyboard, Ceramics, Sculpture, Museum Study, AP Art History, Art History and Analysis)
