Application Process
- Paper copies of the Magnet Application are available in the Main Office.
- To apply online, click on the following link: Apply Online
- Entrance into the Magnet program is through the application process. Registration is completed the year before (October/November). The announcement of acceptance will take place in the Spring.
- Applicants must specify 1873602 LOS ANGELES HS (Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math) as a choice on the application.

FYI: 2023-2024 Choices Late Application Process: Opens Wednesday, February 1, 2023
The 2023-2024 Choices late application process begins on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. This process allows parents/guardians to apply to Choices programs individually. Parents/guardians may use this process if they missed the on-time application window OR if they wish to apply to additional schools.
Late applications will be processed in the order received; applicants will be added to each school’s late/waitlist. Late applications do not impact a student’s on-time Choices application. Late applications will be processed separately at the school level after the centralized, on-time Choices selection and accept/decline processes occur in March/April 2023. Parents/guardians may be contacted directly by the school(s) to be offered a late/waitlist seat any time between March/April 2023 and the fourth week of the 2022-2023 school year. Parents/guardians will be contacted if/when a space is available and their child is next in line on the list. If an applicant has already accepted a Choices placement when another Choices placement is offered, the parent/guardian may accept the new placement. (However, the parent must first decline the program already accepted prior to accepting a new program; all declines are final.)

El proceso de solicitud tardía de Choices 2023-2024 comienza el Miercoles 6 de Febrero de 2023 a las 8:00 a.m. Este proceso permite a los padres / tutores presentar su solicitud a los programas Choices individualmente. Los padres / tutores serán contactados si / cuando haya un espacio disponible y su hijo sea el siguiente en la lista. Si un solicitante ya ha aceptado una ubicación de Choices cuando se ofrece otra ubicación de Choices, el padre / tutor puede aceptar la nueva ubicación. (Sin embargo, el padre debe primero rechazar el programa ya aceptado antes de aceptar un nuevo programa; todos los rechazos son definitivos).
