WELCOME BIOLOGY STUDENTS 2015-16!

BIOLOGY

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The major emphases of this course it to provide understanding of the basic biological concepts:
biotechnology, genetics, evolution and the stability and biodiversity of the ecosystem.
Stress is on student’s active participation in group projects, laboratory investigation,
and the development of critical-thinking skills.

GRADING SYSTEM:

A. Categories B.                                    Letter Grades

Class work         = 20%                              A = 90 – 100%
Homework          = 20%                             B = 80 – 89%
Laboratory work = 30%                             C = 70 – 79%
Tests                   = 30%                             D = 60 – 69%
                            100%                             F = 59% and below

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS:

• It is the student’s responsibility to make up for the missing assignments.
• Make up test should be arranged with the teacher ( after school)
• All late work has penalty depending on how late is the work.
• Missed laboratory activities and presentations cannot be made up,
but alternative make-up assignments may be given at the teacher’s discretion.
