Biography

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Marguerette Gladden and it is with great honor that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Los Angeles High School. For the past 12 years I have worked in LAUSD in various capacities, all which have prepared me to lead the community towards the school’s goal of 100% Proficiency and graduation. I look forward to using my past experiences as an English and Math teacher, Title III Coach and an Assistant Principal to lead our students on their journey to success.

At LA High School it will be my priority to work with all stakeholders to make sure that every child leaves College and Career Ready. I believe in the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” It will be my goal to support a productive educational environment where students, staff and parents feel empowered to share their ideas and become a part of the learning taking place on campus. Through collaboration teachers will create challenging and rigorous lessons for students to keep them engaged and prepare them for life after High School.

I look forward to becoming a part of the Roman community and continuing the hard work Dr. Brandy and his amazing team started last year. As the Principal, I have an open door policy. Please feel free to come by to share a concern, question or even to just say hello. A team approach most definitely is necessary to create and maintain this desired learning environment, and I am eager to begin collaborating with everyone.
